Golf Digest Magazine ranks three Tasmanian golf courses in the World’s Top 40*.

  • Cape Wickham which is located on King Island is ranked number 24,
  • Barnbougle Dunes and Lost Farm, which are located at Bridport, 90 minutes from Launceston and are ranked number 31 and number 40.

All three of these courses have been built in the last 15 years which has put Tasmania on the world map.  It is pretty remarkable that it now boasts more World Top 40 courses than the Melbourne Sandbelt which has forever been known as a golfing mecca. The Melbourne Sandbelt has two courses in the World Top 40 with Royal Melbourne ranked number 5 and Kingston Heath number 18.

In Golf Australia Magazine’s 2020 Top 100 rankings**, Tasmania also boasts 3 of Australia’s Top 4 courses. Royal Melbourne ranked number one followed by Cape Wickham, Barnbougle Dunes and Lost Farm. Tasmania’s Ocean Dunes which came in at number 15.
